Men’s Mind Health
What is the Men’s Mind Coach Program?
Sometimes life gets a bloke in a place where you’re not thinking right. It’s in these times Psychology Services NSW can help you. We call our approach the Mind Coach Program, and it’s different to traditional psychology.
We have designed the Men’s Mind Coach program specifically for heterosexual men. It combines the best of the self-help and life coach industry with the evidence-based methods of psychology. We can help blokes move out from under a cloud of sadness, struggles or simply a funk or help you with more complex issues like domestic violence. We believe that good psychology work for Heterosexual Men should be a lot like sports coaching, it should be goal focused, you should feel involved, empowered and when needed, guided and mentored towards the success you desire and deserve.
How does the Men’s Mind Coach program work?
We become your personal mind coach, speaking a language you understand. You won’t find any pretentiousness from us. You’ll be supported, just like a sporting coach on the sideline encouraging you to get back into the game of life.
There’s no clinical jargon; we throw out that well-known image of talking, sitting opposite the psychologist like you are some sort of specimen being observed and judged. Instead we focus on solving your issues together standing around a table or whiteboard helping you to visually map out your roadblocks and identify your potential areas of success. We do this in a laid-back and creative way, while always using evidence-based methodologies. This isn’t quack, shonky therapy, it’s creative, evidenced based psychology. Done differently.
We use your strengths and individuality to help you break through any mind struggles and become the best version of yourself. It’s through this process that you will develop and implement strategies to help you become an awesome dad, partner, son, sporting team member, or mate.
How much do I pay for Men’s Mind Coach?
The Men’s Mind Coach program can be arranged using Medicare-funded psychology sessions. You will need a referral from your GP for 6 to 10 sessions. The out-of-pocket costs are roughly $165 per session, with Medicare covering approximately $84 per session. If you don’t want to see your GP for a referral, that’s ok, sessions are $250 per hour. At the end of 10 sessions, we will provide to you a take home “Success Pack” designed to cover all the main areas we discussed with guides and methods to continue to track your progress at home. This way you can continue working on yourself once you leave us, sometimes success takes time.
We also provide a free follow-up consult two months after your final session – because we’ve got your back.
